My name is Albert Szarek, and I am a 22-year-old student at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Currently, I am studying computing & information technology, which allows me to combine my passion for designing and coding. I am fascinated by the ever-evolving world of technology and enjoy creating visually appealing and functional websites & mobile applications. In my free time, I enjoy kickboxing, playing video games, and watching sports.

I have strong fundamentals & skills with HTML, CSS & JavaScript, alongside limited proficiency with PHP and Java.
I create visually appealing websites and use Photoshop to enhance and manipulate images for high-quality results.
I thrive on finding creative solutions to complex problems and constantly seek out new ways to push the boundaries of building websites.

I am currently entering my last year of studies at RIT, with a major in Computing & Information Technologies. I entered RIT as a computing exploration student, because I wasn't quite sure yet whether I wanted to go into software engineering, cyber security, computer science, etc... This major allowed me to take courses across the different technological majors offered at RIT, and that is where my passion for web development started to emerge.

As a Software Engineer Intern at Paychex (May-August 2025), I contributed to migrating legacy Angular Material components to Paychex's internal Kuiper component library, built with Web Components and StencilJS. I collaborated with fellow interns to migrate two internal websites, completing 90% and 70% of their respective UI migrations. In the process, I gained hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript, refactoring and implementing reusable UI components. To ensure high code quality and maintainability, I wrote and refactored unit tests with Jest and developed automated UI tests with Selenium.

As a Web Development Intern at Kodak (July 2024-January 2025), I contributed significantly to the company's website content and design. Using Craft CMS, I uploaded and managed various types of content, including blogs, events, landing pages, and product pages. I conducted comprehensive competitive analyses of competitor websites to inform strategic decisions. Additionally, I utilized Pardot to create web translations and worked within Kodak's backend systems to develop new content and resolve existing bugs.

As a Web Development Intern at Calspan (May 2023-August 2023), I gained valuable experience in front-end development with Bootstrap and I managed website content using Concrete CMS. I also developed proficiency in search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to enhance website performance and maintain overall site health.
